Director
Steve is a Chartered Structural Engineer and has been a member of the Institute of Structural Engineers for over 30 years. Steve founded and established S C Green Ltd in 2003 and brings a wealth of design and engineering experience to the company as its Director. Steve takes a practical, pragmatic approach to his engineering solutions and is greatly respected within the local building industry.
David Cason

Director
David joined S C Green Ltd in 2006 having worked professionally as an engineer in Design and Project Management. Initially joining the firm as a Structural Engineer but with a passion for architecture, David has spent the last 10+ years developing the architectural design arm of the business. During this time David also founded and established David Cason Design Ltd to focus on Architectural Design; this business grew and later merged with S C Green Ltd. David utilises his engineering experience coupled with his passion for high quality design to provide creative, cost effective building solutions.
James Palmer
M.Eng(Hons), C.Eng, M.I.Struct.E
Senior Structural Engineer
James joined Cason Green in 2022 as a Senior Structural Engineer. Gaining Chartered status with the Institution of Structural Engineers in 2018, James has over 10 years of experience of working in the Kent Construction industry on a diverse range of projects from small residential conversions right through to large new-build commercial units. James works across our full range of engineering design projects and enjoys the challenge of working on 'unusual' buildings.
Philip Blanch
BSc. (Hons)
Associate
Philip joined the firm in 2013 as a qualified and experienced professional Building Surveyor. Philip had over 20 years experience working for the NHS and brings his considerable experience of managing larger scale commercial projects. Philip has a very keen eye for detail and is able to assist clients in their responsibilities under the CDM legislation and act as Principal Designer when required. Philip is also able to assist in preparing and managing other contractual matters for larger schemes.
Matthew Westfield
Architectural Designer
Matt joined the firm in 2013 as a trainee draughtsman/surveyor. Matt has been able to find an outlet for his creativity and eye for design by assisting in the production of architectural drawings for planning applications. Matt is principally focussed on supporting the architectural arm of the practice, undertaking measured residential surveys and having increasing design input into our projects.
William Cason
Structural Engineering Technician
Bill joined the firm in 2018, initially as a trainee technician and draughtsman. He is currently halfway through his university degree in Civil Engineering and is increasingly taking on more responsibility for structural design and calculations. Bill continues to work across all areas of the business to develop a well-rounded knowledge of the building industry. He undertakes measured site surveys, has architectural design input as well his structural engineering role.
Rebecca Hodgson
Administrator / Customer Accounts
Rebecca joined the firm in 2023 as our administrator and helps to keep the office running smoothly including the management of customer accounts. Rebecca also has a strong background and experience in compliance.
